Strategies for getting the best vacation property experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the largest rental home for your budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and pick the right Myrtle Beach rental:
- First and foremost, have your family agree to trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Paradis By Casanita
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is generally available online. If they are not listed, call the host before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. E-mail the rental manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
