Myrtle Beach rental home tips:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the best rental home:
- Choose vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. South Side View Two Room Apartment 3rd Floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
- If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to inspire new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
