Our top Myrtle Beach rental booking tips and tricks:
Finding the best rental home value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose vacation week and budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Oceanfront_Spacious_View the Sunrise_ Family Friendly & Quiet Building has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before reserving your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges applied to your contract.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many problems.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
