Tricks and tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and choose the perfectvacation home:
- First, have your family select date ranges and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Winter Rates! Amazing Oceanview 1Br Dog Friendly! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. If not, reach out to the host before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what is suitable for your vacation family.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Additional considerations:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
