Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Book your vacation in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:

Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your group.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
