How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Oceanfront_Stylish-Striking -Just Remodeled-Family building with a Pool & Tennis has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your trip.
  • If your family is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

More considerations:

  • Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. E-mail the host immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
