Strategies to get the optimal Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the best rental home:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your dates, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Oceanlakes fabulous beach cottage 3b1b has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the host before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is best for your trip.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your contract.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Upon arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
