Tips to get the best vacation property experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have coupons for local tours and attractions.
Selecting the perfect rental:
- Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Oceanside - Marriott's OceanWatch Villas - Upscale Resort Villa On The Beach! Spacious! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges applied to your agreement.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you crave, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
More tips for your stay:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of difficulties.
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
- Make a record of any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to stimulate more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
