Getting the best vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the largest vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking the rightvacation home:
- Start by choosing your a vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Sheraton condo by the famed Broadway at the Beach! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your group.
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you love, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Have a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the host immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
