Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To find the largest rental within your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, picking, and booking the bestrental:
- Begin by selecting trip dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Oceanview 1 Bedroom Condo Immaculate Condition Palace Resort 611 Sleeps 4 guests has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your family.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many issues.
- Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Upon arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
