How to get the best rental value:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your rental Search:

- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Pelican's Landing Unit 318 - Ocean view has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property management company before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Know before you go:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the rental manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
