Myrtle Beach rental booking tips and tricks:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting and booking the bestvacation home:
- Begin by choosing a vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Serenity by the Sea: 3 BR OF Condo 9th Floor has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available online. If they are not listed, email the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a terrific stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
