Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the most suitable rental home for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Ocean View Retreat: Includes Breakfast 10th Flr has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your family.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
More tips for your visit:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great time? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
