Tricks and tips for getting the perfect rental home experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To book the largest vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning, selecting, and booking your Myrtle Beach rental:
- Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Oceanfront Splendor: 10th Floor 4 Bedroom Hideaway has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is best for your vacation family.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
