Tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Choosing and booking yourrental:
- Start by having your family commit to trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. One Bedroom Suite at The Landmark Resort Unit 347 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, email the host before reserving your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of issues.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. text the rental manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to drive new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
