Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by choosing vacation dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. BEACHSIDE 2 Bed 2 Bath Condo with AMAZING OCEAN VIEWS! Snowbirds welcome! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Tips for your stay:
- Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many difficulties.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
