Tips and Tricks to get the best rental home experience:
Sticking to your budget:
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your Search:
- Start by choosing the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Palmeras Beach House has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available online. If they are not listed, email the property manager before reserving your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is best for your trip.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
More tips for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas during check in. Contact the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to propel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
