Rental booking tips:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have discounts for local tours and attractions.
Selecting and booking a perfectvacation home:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. WOW Newly Upgraded Oceanfront 3BR 2BA Suite with Spectacular Oceanfront Views has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your trip.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Know before you go:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. text the host right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
