Finding the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the most suitable rental home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your rental search:
- First and foremost, have your family commit to vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. On the Beach, No Roads to Cross has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
- Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to drive more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
