How to find the best vacation property experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best value, consider shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. On the Beach, No Roads to Cross has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
Have a fantastic stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the property manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
