Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Make a plan and choose a perfectvacation home:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Paramount Plus\/Oceanfront\/Best Location has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Tips to have a great stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
