Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
Find your perfect rental home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- To find the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Select a group leader, choose your dates, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Peaceful and serene on a golf course centrally located 10 minutes to the beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you book the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges applied to your agreement.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
