Rental booking tips:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Reserve your rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and choosing a perfectrental:
- Choose vacation week and max budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Peaceful and serene on a golf course centrally located 10 minutes to the beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your trip.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
