Tips and Tricks to get the very best vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental home in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose and book the right Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Wyndham Seawatch Condo Resort has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
