Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. A Place At The Beach VI Updated 2BR 2BA Oceanfront Bld W\/Private Beach Access has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible online. If not, email the property owner before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your family.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a great stay? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
