How to book the best vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, try shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Select a group lead, choose your dates, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. A Place At The Beach VI Updated 2BR 2BA Oceanfront Bld W\/Private Beach Access has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you book the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you crave, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- During check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
