How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose the perfect vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Pelicans Landing 118 3 bedroom with a 5 minute walk to the beach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the host before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you love, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Have a fantastic stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few issues.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
