Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.

How to select the best rental home:

  • Select dates and spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Winter Get A Way - Opening - South Tower-Ocean Creek-1st Floor- Spacious Condo has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property manager before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you crave, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Call the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
