Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To book the best rental home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Selecting and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- First and foremost, have your group choose the best dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Penthouse, oceanfront, 2-story condo with full access to resort amenities!! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. If not, contact the host before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you love, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
