Rental home tips and tricks:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the best value, shift your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select vacation dates and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Unmatched Views, sparkling pool, and a well kept condo! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible online. If not, call the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Upon check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
