Tips to get the best vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Some hosts offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Finding the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose vacation dates and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. PET FRIENDLY - 2Bdrm\/1Bath home in Oceanside Village! Close to Pool has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your agreement.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
During your stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- During arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
