Booking the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Get the best rental value:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the largest rental home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose the best rental:
- Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Anderson Ocean Club, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club - 2 Bedroom Oceanfront has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before reserving the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is best for your trip.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Have a fantastic stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Upon check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
