Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips:
Money saving strategies:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Finding the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Magnolia Lake Scenic Lakeside Unit 202 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
More considerations:
- Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
