Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental home in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by selecting trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. 4th-Floor, Oceanfront, Snowbird-Friendly Condo w\/ Shared Pool\/Hot Tub, WiFi, AC has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. If not, call the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your trip.
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
More tips for your visit:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the rental manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
