Our top Rental booking tips:
Find your perfect rental home:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the best value, try changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and choosing the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. 4th-Floor, Oceanfront, Snowbird-Friendly Condo w\/ Shared Pool\/Hot Tub, WiFi, AC has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. If not, contact the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your family.
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to drive more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
