Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips and tricks:

Money saving strategies:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Begin by selecting vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Pools and Beach at 7th Floor Caravelle Towers has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before booking your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Additional considerations:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • During arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
