How to find the best vacation rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To get the best value, consider changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.

How to choose and book your Myrtle Beach rental:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. 9th-floor oceanfront studio with AC, pool, & hot tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you book the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Call the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
