Strategies to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Finding your best deal:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the most suitable vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
How to choose the perfect vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Begin by choosing a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Ocean View Double Queen Suite with LED Fireplace! - Caravelle Resort 506 - Sleeps 4 Guests! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation group.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the property manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
