Myrtle Beach rental home tips and tricks:
Get the best value:
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and choosing the rightrental home:
- To start, have your group choose date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Pristine Oceanfront Myrtle Beach 2 Bedroom Condo Free WiFi and Parking has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your contract.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you love, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
Have a fantastic stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. text the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a great stay? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
