Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Book your vacation in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and choose a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Pristine Oceanfront Oasis With Breathtaking Views- Camelot 1614 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many concerns.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the property manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
