Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

Get the best value:

  • Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your vacation in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

How to choose the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Start by choosing the best vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Top Floor - KING BED! - CLEAN! - The View!! - FULLY RENOVATED has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. Otherwise, call the property owner before booking the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or could be applied to your invoice.

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
