Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips:
When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Quiet Oceanfront Studio Sleeps 4 Jade Tree Cove Resort has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
