Tips and Tricks to get the best rental experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and pick the perfectvacation home:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Cozy 2BR 3BD, loft style Condo in beautiful Surfside Beach, with pool & hot tub has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to stimulate future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
