Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Finding the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- First, have your group commit to the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Radiant and bright condo in the center of MB has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
Tips to have a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- At Check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent time? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
