Rental property booking tips:

When to go & When to book:

  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • To get the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Selecting and booking the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:

  • First, have your group select date ranges and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. RAISED BEACH HOUSE 1 BLOCK FROM BEACH has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs applied to your contract.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. message the property manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
