Tricks and tips to get the best rental experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Make a plan and choose your Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- To start, have your group decide on trip dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Marriott Ocean Watch Villas offer a little slice of paradise in Myrtle Beach! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. If not, call the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you crave, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Additional considerations:
- Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- During check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
