Strategies to get the perfect rental experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your rental property in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking the perfectrental home:
- First and foremost, have your group agree to trip dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Marriott Ocean Watch Villas offer a little slice of paradise in Myrtle Beach! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is right for your trip.
- Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Tips to have a fantastic stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Record any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
