How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, change your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Choosing the perfect vacation home in Myrtle Beach:

  • Start by choosing a vacation week and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Recently Updated Condo 1\/2 A Mile From The Beach + Free Attraction Tickets! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before booking the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what is optimal for your trip.
  • Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • At Check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of concerns.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
