Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Renovated oceanfront condo with pools, hot tub, beachfront access, & gym has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before reserving your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what is optimal for your group.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your visit, record any problem areas during check in. Contact the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
