Tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to go & When to reserve a rental home:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Some hosts offer special rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- First, have your group select vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. River Oaks 1306 condo in resort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If not, contact the property owner before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
