Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Find your best deal:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, change your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning and choosing the perfectvacation home:
- First, have your family choose the best dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. River Oaks 654 with golf course view has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
Tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
