Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the largest rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose vacation week and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Sand Dunes Ocean Direct View 7th Flr, Great Pools! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation family.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to drive more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
