Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To get the largest vacation home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Choosing and booking a perfectrental home:
- Select a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Just added, views of the ocean and a rain shower has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is right for your vacation.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. text the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
