How to find the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Booking in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain discounts for local tours and attractions.
Planning and picking the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Select dates and max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Beautiful Beach Home Rental for 2024 3BD-2BA has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the host before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
