Our top Vacation rental tips:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To book the best rental home within your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Seaside Splendor on the 6th Floor: 3 Bedroom Condo has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Know before you go:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- At Check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
