Tricks and tips to get the best rental experience:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to pick the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Spacious Ocean View Elegance 3 Bdrm Condo 19th Flr has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property management company before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Advice for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many concerns.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Contact the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
